Was excited to see your Substack pop up in my inbox. I loved seeing your book list. My recent reading list has had a lot of overlap with yours! And I loved seeing your poems printed and laid out across a colorful rug. I love your poems and would be very excited to have them in my house one day. As for the state of the world…I’m afraid I’ve run out of comfort. I don’t know what else to do other than witness and write and endure. Sending love and hope to see you on screen soon! 💛
Witness, write and endure seems to be the triptych of my life too, dear Kate. Thank you for reading and thank you for your words, too. I love reading them as well❤️
Creating is an act of courage and love sometimes for the unseen and unknown. An act of hope. Just by writing and sharing your poetry you are winning. It's also an inspiration as I know I need to submit more! Love reading your words wherever I find them.
You should submit more, Kevin! Your work is unlike anything else I've read. Just as writing is an act of hope, a creation against all the destruction, so I see the process of submitting as an act of endurance against all odds.
I appreciate that so much, Eliza! I've been so in my head about poetry but you are right. I need to submit. I'm gonna try building a habit of doing it. Could be fun. Maybe it'll include chocolate.
Oh sweet one! This made me heart swell in unimaginable ways. I hang on your words; here in your poems. I now have several new books to add to me TBR pile as well. Mostly, I am so happy to see you have compiled your extraordinary poems into a manuscript. If a time comes when you publish it/them I will be first in line. xo
It WAS satisfying seeing them on paper like that: their weight, texture, the beauty of the ink across them. I love words so much, I could just dive in those pages and stay there 🤩

So thankful for you, Mary Lynn
We've just gotten our floors redone and you bet I'll be scattering my poems over them. So satisfying to see yours laid out like that.
